We were recommended to use these movers and the fact that they came to the house for a free estimate helped us feel confident going forward and hiring them. The representative came to the apartment, looked around the place, opened cabinets, and we showed him EVERYTHING! We were given a quote for ...More how much the move would cost if we packed everything, and how much it would cost if we didn't pack anything. When speaking to the representative he said that a partial pack would be somewhere in between the prices which were $700 apart. We therefore assumed that since we packed everything except for the clothing in our closet (since they had wardrobe boxes) and the kitchen, that it would likely be around $200/300 above the rate we were given if we packed everything. The movers showed up the morning of the move and claimed that we had more than we had in the apartment when the representative came for the estimate. The estimate was done literally one week before the moving date and we threw out many things when packing that week meaning by definition we had fewer items in the apartment when the movers arrived. They then tried charging us $300 more than the rate that was given as if we didn't pack anything. (Reminder: We packed all but the closet and the kitchen.) After many calls to the company day of, and the movers themselves having to stop working while we negotiated, we ended up having to pay the rate we were quoted for a FULL pack by the moving company. We are so furious that we were cheated and lied to by the representative, and the day of the move we were taken advantage of by the fact that we had to move that day and we didn't have a choice but to go forward with the move. The gentlemen who moved the furniture by the company were amazing. The company itself took advantage of its customers in a stressful and high pressure situation.
