Normally I don't write reviews but my experience moving with Universe Express was such a worse that I am taking time to write this review and help others to stay away. This moving company simply vanished my two boxes and claimed they never picked up. Infact they are the ones who even packed tho ...Morese and it included my MacBook Pro Laptop which had all my data and stuff. Also their customer service dept (which included only 1 person, i.e. Ethan Shya the owner) is worse experience ever. He was rude and totally oblivious to any reasoning I provided. They overcharged me at the delivery location as well. They claimed that their long trailer can not arrive at my street, which is 160' wide and I have myself seen long trailers comming for nearby business / drop offs. But no reason will work with Universe Express pathetic staff, they charged me $500 for smaller truck rental on delivery, or threatened to drop off my goods at terminal and went away. It was such a worse experience I could have never imagined. Plus guys, know that they are not a member of AMASA (moving association of USA) and have bad reviews at some other sites. I seriously believe that any good reviews you find on internet are put by company staff themselves (since I can not put bad review about them on some sites, probably those sites are their own?) They are not end to end moving service either. Some third party non-uniformed guys in U-Haul truck came to deliver my items. My table was scratched and lot of boxes were banged up. There is so much more, but in short, I suggest to stay away from this moving company.
I WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I have had to move several times in the past few years and this is the worst moving company I have used. I wanted to use the last moving company I moved with but they did not do short distance moves so I browsed through the better business bureau to find this com ...Morepany. The initial work order went smoothly but since the day of the move, everything went downhill. I moved out of New York city and many of the buildings in the city are more stringent about protection of the building during the move. I provided the movers with the necessary instructions and of course on the day of the move, the company did not have the needed materials and denied that they received the faxed instructions. I provided the fax confirmation and the building management showed the returned contract sent by the movers with the moving instructions but again, the moving company denied receiving these instructions so I was required to pay the building $200 for the materials. Upon receiving my furniture, items were damaged and one item was lost. It is now 3 months since the move and I have not received reimbursement for the damaged and lost item. Repeated contact to the moving company did not prove useful. I had to file a claim with the better business bureau to try and resolve this issue and at this time, no reimbursement or amends have been made. I will never use this company again and advice others to do the same.
They came in mid night for pickup the things and did not pack the things in front of me and gave me estimation 550 CU FT space approx. and sent the things only in 500 CU FT. and not ready return excess amount We received the things in very bad and damaged condition. 1). Wooden TV Console 46 In ...Morech TV - Completely broken- Price 232 USD 2). Wooden Book Shelf - Completely Broken- Price 50 USD 3). Baby Swing - Parts missing Not able to assemble-Price 273 USD 4). 2 Backyard chair - Completely broken- 20 USD Other furniture also have scratches. This is because of complete negligence of packaging. They charged for more than 550 Cu Feet but tried to put things in less than 500 Cu Feet that's the one of the reason of breakage. Along with the claim I want to refund the excess amount charge on booking space as mentioned in invoice. We also have a return receipt in which your delivery person mentioned about damaged clearly.

It was the absolute worst experience I've had with a moving company in my life. The problems conveniently started after I paid my deposit. I was having ...More items shipped from my grandmother's home in NJ to WA. I set up an agreement with the company for them to send me all of the documents needed to sign since I will not be present in NJ during the scheduled pick up. Although they agreed at first, they retracted and said there were documents that had to be signed in person. I stated I would be ok with my grandmother signing documents as long as I was able to review the documents first, so avoid her being taken advantage of. They agreed but did not honor that agreement which I didn't find out until later. They were two days late for their scheduled pick-up. Only calling once on their initial scheduled date to say they were running a few minutes behind. I had to call them on the second day late to see what was going on. They rescheduled with me and was late for their rescheduled time, they were supposed to show up in the morning and didn't come until 4:00 p.m. During the pick-up process, items they initially agreed to take (chandelier) during their site-visit/estimate they all of a sudden couldn't take. They pressured my grandmother to sign documents without her reading them, stating they didn't have time for her to read them as they were in a rush. Come to find out they wrote "broken" next to each of the items they picked up, no doubt a tactic to cover them in case they broke something during the move as the items were in great condition and were not in fact broken. Although we have no 'proof', my grandmother's brand new 4g phone (which was a gift) went missing the same time they left, never to be found again. After many phone calls to the manager, I was able to get them to pick up the chandelier they decided at the last minute they would not take, although they did increase the total price. Keep in mind they changed the price, while they had possession of the items I was having moved. Once the items got to WA, it took numerous reschedules before they actually delivered the items. The driver was looking for people to help him unload since the original people that were supposed to help didn't show. They unloaded the items, and everything seemed fine until they unloaded the antique dining room table and placed it on its face to assemble and then proceeded to step on the table. Once they turned the table around, I immediately noticed a piece of the table was broken off. I pointed it out to them and they attempted to state it was already like that using their document that had broken written next to every item. My husband found the broken piece in their wrapping and at that point we had proof that they couldn't argue with. I submitted numerous estimates to fix the item (which was not cheap) along with the other requested items for their claim process within the 9 month time frame I had per their agreement. I received a response stating they denied the claim because it was not within the time frame and I signed a document stating they would not cover damage to those type of items. Not only have I not signed a document stating that, I had never seen or heard of this document before. They never submitted this document to me nor had I received a copy of this document upon delivery of items like I did with the documents my grandmother signed in my absence. I rate them a "0" out of 10.
