I secured a storage unit at this location in June 2019. Sometime between then and December 2019, my storage unit was broken into and most of my belongings were stolen. Since I had purchased the coverage that was sold to me as insurance for my belongings, I figured I'd have some protection in the ...More matter. I was wrong. When I filed my claim, it was promptly denied by a single person who works part-time for the company, who said they were the final say on all claims. This person said that my loss was due to "mysterious circumstances" and used that as her justification for denying my claim. When I asked how I could appeal this decision, I was told I couldn't. When I asked what insurer the insurance was through, I was told that it wasn't actually insurance--it was "coverage." To even call it "coverage" is stretching the truth, as nothing was actually covered from my break-in. They insert language into their "coverage" contract that makes it very, very easy for them to deny legitimate claims for virtually any reason. By the way, literally no one at this company ever even attempted to pull security footage regarding my claim. Those security cameras are there to sell you on their storage units--nothing else. What's more, this location started renovating the units to be "more secure" immediately after I reported my claim. Undoubtedly, they were making these units more secure against human break-ins. It's almost like my loss didn't happen under "mysterious circumstances" at all...It's almost like they knew my claim was completely legitimate and wanted to protect themselves against further claims and possibly even legal action...hmm, strange, indeed. Trying to communicate with this company during this whole ordeal was a nightmare. When I asked for a copy of my contract so that I could make a claim through a legitimate insurance company for my loss, I was given the run-around. I never actually received a copy of my contract from this company; I'm lucky I found the original photocopy I received when I signed up for my unit. The front-desk person at this location literally told me she was doing me a favor by searching for my contract (and told me so very rudely), as if my asking for a copy of my contract was completely unreasonable and out of the norm. This company is here to take your money and deny any kind of responsibility when it comes to their customers' completely legitimate theft claims (and probably other types of claims, too, to be honest). They treated me like I was the bad guy when I just wanted to recuperate some of the loss I had incurred as a result of the break-in--items I had inherited from my dead father that I'll never get back. For a big company like this, it would have been so easy to pay me out with the coverage I had paid for to protect my belongings. A few thousand bucks would have been absolutely no skin off this company's back. These people are scum and I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. Public Storage seems to be a much more secure, affordable, and customer-oriented business, for what it's worth.

Do not ever store your belongings here. A couple years ago my storage was broken into and my belongings were stolen. Unfortunately my brother also had his things there in a different unit and it just recently got broken into as well. Be warned this place is not trust worthy do not by the locks t ...Morehey provide and check your locks and unit weekly. I'd find a safer place.
I went to StorageMart to help my friend move his stuff into a unit. The facility is NOT safe. Customers are expected to move their own stuff using an open-walled freight elevator with a license that expired in May 2019. The elevator has a sign that says only trained operators should use it, but ...Morecustomers are expected to do so. Also, the facility is quite a maze and there are no fire exit signs on the second and third floors. I wandered around the second floor looking for stairs because there were no fire exit signs -- especially concerning because the facility is 80% old wood.
What makes a good business? It's employees OFC! Nate , made it easy to get started always helpful. the location is clean and well lit for added security I would recommend the service.
Been renting her for 2 years. My storage unit got burglarized 1/24/21 an hour after I visited my storage. Police didn't come out at all. Made police report. OAKLAND POLICE DO NOT GIVE ANY SHITS ABOUT THE CRIME THAT HAPPENS IN THIS CITY. Staff was useless besides the manager (Eritrean fellow) ver ...Morey kind allowed us to view the cameras and spot the dumbass stealing my shit on camera with no mask! The Perpetrator didn't use an access code because he was allowed to walk in with a suitcase carrying a chainsaw SMFH. Don't risk your shit belongings whatever you have in this muthafucka cuz they shady to allow this to go down.
