This is the best storage facility I've ever used -- its clean, secure and nothing is out of order here unlike others that have been inconsistent on quality and service. But this public storage in Emeryville has the absolute BEST STAFF that know what they're doing are super friendly AND efficien ...Moret and are always making sure the customer comes first. I'm a repeat customer and if I ever need storage again I will rent from them. Special thumbs up for Amelia who makes it a great place by her caring ways along with professional and efficient service. She "gets it" we customers are in a bit of stress and transition -- after all we're moving in and out of a storage unit; but she has us smiling and glad we choose her and this facility.

I forgot the lady's name who helped me. She was very helpful and pleasant. She is not the reason I'm giving them one star. I'm giving the company and it's policy the one star and if I had the option of no stars I would. I came in a few days ago looked at a unit and paid for the unit. I planned t ...Moreo come back the next day to bring my things. . That was bout 3:30 pm that day. Fortunately a friend said I could use their extra room to store my things since I only had a few items. Less than 24 hours later I called to say I no longer needed it. They were able to cancel my unit of course but were unable to refund me any portion of my money. I am appalled that the customer was not taken into consideration when this policy was created. For that reason alone I will never use Public Storage. As I mentioned before the customer service was great but their policy is ridiculous

The location is perfect. This would be my second time renting at this facility. However, dealing with the so called: Manager, Amelia, was the most horrific experience I have had in a long time, when buying a service. I had made a reservation online, for a 10'x10' unit, and made an appointment wi ...Moreth her to finalize the paperwork and pay. I am a 63 year old, professional logistics engineer, working in the tech field. I have lived a while! So, when I am showed a unit by Amelia, unit that has an a/c or air duct that takes away from the space, in one corner of the unit, from floor to ceiling, I started asking if there was another unit. She immediately got defensive and somewhat aggressive with her answers, and does not like the fact I am asking her questions. I had a similar experience the year before, and stupid of me, I had forgotten. She is the most fake, unfriendly, non-customer service person I have found in a long while. Either you take it as it is and go along with her and the computer, or you are in for a very unpleasant experience. If it was not because I was already there, and had spent my time on it, I would have gone somewhere else. Will never, ever rent from there again!

If based on my experiences with the property manager (Amelia, who I think hates her job), I would have given one (1) star. The other two who work at this site (Nakita and I didn't catch the other black woman's name) who helped me were very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. They gave in ...Moreformation without attitude or in a condescending manner, and offered information without being asked. They would have received five (5) stars. As for the manager, I checked in after sunset and my unit's ONE light had a blown bulb. Since I have a very long unit, the light shines in the front half of the space, so the rest was rather dark even after the manager changed the bulb. While chatting with her, I mentioned that the one light seemed insufficient for this size unit. Her response was, "That's how these units are." Dead end answer - and obviously did NOT understand what I said is also known as "feedback." I said I could hook up another light, and she slammed that idea shut with, "That's not allowed!" So, if one wanted a bulldog to work the front desk and prevent customers from wanting to use the facilities, she's a good candidate. Her lack of customer service skills and public relations really deem her better in a position that doesn't interact with people. I also had a portable storage unit (Pack Rat) to unload into the stationery storage, and left to get the helpers for unloading it. When I returned, the same manager jumped all over me about leaving the container (it was out of the way and did not block anyone's unit) on site. I'm not sure what I was supposed to do as I couldn't take it with me to pick up my help. Next time I'll bring them but that means extra money spent while waiting for the delivery! Anyway, I'm now sitting by the front gate waiting for the pick up guy to return - it's now been over a two hour wait. I could have been doing something else since I live close by. Not sure I understand the reasoning for this "babysitting" a portable container rule. I already know it can't stay overnight. And she threatened to tow it away if I leave it (would like to see how that is done without the crane and cradle!). All this negativity for a stressful enough time when moving, certainly NOT what anyone needs!
