Our unit, along with a bunch of others were ROBBED, and public storage is refusing to call the police or do anything about it, even though they know who the thieve is (They rented a unit, locked themselves in, and during the closed hours went unit to unit) DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE WITH YOUR STUF ...MoreF EVER!!! Staff had his head down and was asleep on the desk when we arrived, elevator security codes were not working. While we were there another person brought a di-grinder up and was cutting a lock. The District Manager and Regional manager also offered NO HELP!!!! Its very likely our stuff is locked in the thieves unit, and no one will help us. They wont call the police, they wont let us review tape. My husband has been waiting over 48 hours for the police to arrive so we can file a claim.. HORRRIBLEE!!!!!!!

Teresa is awesome! Even working alone she knows how to get the customers in and out... Highly recommend
If I had written this review five years ago, in 2011, it would have been different. I would have given this place five stars with no hesitation. Now, things have changed. I originally put my things in storage in 2005 for a fraction of the cost now and used a small portion of a generous size uni ...Moret. This place has changed ownership possibly up to four times in those years but was always clean, reasonable even with inevitable rent increases, and had a helpful and often friendly staff. Imagine my surprise when I went in today to retrieve my things for a cross country move and saw homeless people wandering in and out, some obviously on drugs, others who appeared to have dangerous and aggressive attitudes. The customer service desk was manned by two people, one of whom appeared not to care much, and the other was a young woman who definitely was doing her job but had the carriage and expression of a security guard instead of a customer service front desk rep. I can't say I blame her, she was policing the place essentially. Her first encounter with a customer was to tell him that he could not lay down in front of his unit for hours, she told him in no uncertain terms he would only have one warning and that he was only allowed to be in his unit for a half hour at a time. Obviously, this was a huge problem for them as these were new "rules" and obviously, there were people who were using the place as a home more than a storage unit. Outside, tents line the street and the atmosphere is chaotic and down and out. I have compassion for the homeless but I also am not sure I want to store my things in a place so beset by homeless meandering in and out, muttering to themselves or looking like they want to fight. This morning was especially bad as a woman I had seen once before was there again and her unit used a ladder above my space. She was super skinny and manic and was pulling things in and out of her unit and talking to herself. I got the feeling this was a meth head. In any event, my movers were there and we needed access to my unit. I paid her to leave essentially and she did. This was the first weird thing. The second was worse. I discovered mouse droppings and then, a mouse carcass in my unit. The carcass was dessicated and old but it was still a mouse carcass! There were droppings on my blankets and all of that will have to be thrown away. The customer service person explained that a bad mouse problem had started last year because of the business next door and that they had people complain. She said they'd had several exterminators in and the problem was resolved, I might find a carcass or two and droppings but no live mice were to be found. I hope this is true and I guess I will find out when I go through my things. My impression was that this was more history than anything else but frankly, the homeless might be storing food so maybe this is why the mice came. I have no food in there but they passed through anyway. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE. Again I think they are addressing the issue but it left me with a bad feeling. So the place has gone downhill as has that whole area. I think it is more a symptom of San Francisco's social issues than Public Storage per se, but then, PS has had the building since 2011 and this is the result. Maybe PS in other areas is better, I would hope so, but this is bad. I think earlier, even in 2011, this place was not this way. This deterioration is more recent. I mean the last two or three years... I was out of town part of that time. Glad I got my stuff out.
It is not safe to leave your things here. I too was ROBBED on or around 01.04.2017. It is the Public Storage Policy to not call the police when things like this happen. It's so unfortunate. More than likely my belongings are in another locked unit. Becareful and stay away from this Public Storag ...Moree.
This place is located in bad location and also has rat feces in the lockers. The prices you see online are only 2/3 of what you pay as you have to include mandatory insurance, tax, and other admin fees.'
