I contacted John C. Murphy Moving & Storage Inc. last week to come out and give me an estimate on a local move. When I spoke with Geraldine (who was actually nice) she said that someone could come out either Saturday (3/29/14) or Sunday (3/30/14) to meet with me and give an estimate. I have a ra ...Morether substantial move and needed to get a moving estimate pretty quickly. I told Geraldine that either day worked for me so she scheduled me for Sunday from 11am to 1pm. It is 5:25pm on Sunday as I right this review and as of now no one has shown up or called me. I have called their provided telephone number and sent them an email to inquire as to where their representative was, but have not received a response. Basically, I wasted an entire day waiting for these guys. I am now having to go on another Moving Company search. The process of waiting around for a company rep to not show up is extremely irritating as well as putting me behind schedule. Needless to say, I won't be using John C. Murphy Moving & Storage Inc.

I have a mixed review. I thought they were fast and took the time to wrap everything in blankets and then plastic wrap so things stayed wrapped. I didn't take extra insurance because of the extra care they took. I found out a few days later after undoing everything that my sons headboard is a ...Moremess, a hole in his NEW computer chair and scratches on a couple of other things. The real blow was that the main guy new they ruined the headboard and was trying to fix it in the truck and never told me. (very sneaky). My husband saw him doing this but never said a thing to him or to me until I saw the damage. (pretty dumb I know). So your choice, sorry not much help!!

I finally have a few minutes after my Thanksgiving week move to write a long overdue review for John C Murphy Moving and Storage. I must admit they weren't my first choice as I took a recommendation from a friend for Arnoff moving ( who really screwed me but I'll write a review on that horrible ...More experience at a later date)...the long and short of it ...the move with Murphy was an absolute pleasure! ..right from the first phone call to Geraldine in customer service(who contacted me all throughout the process ) to Gregg the Moving Consultant right through to most importantly Danny and his crew...they showed up on time..wrapped all my belongings like it was their own...polite, fast and well worth every dime I paid them...which by the way was cheaper than Arnoff who offered only one truck and 3 men compared to Murphy who showed up with 2 trucks,a van and 5 men...5 stars To the whole crew at John C Murphy Moving and storage. I highly recommend them to anyone moving across the country or across the street. ..yup..definitely was a 10 out of 10 in my book!! Thank you Murphy for coming through on a moments notice! BRAVO!!

If I could give them more than 5-stars I would!!! Incredible experience from start to finish. Mayflower/Murphy Moving and Storage was referred to us by our real estate agent. It was easy to make an appt and Len Coleman was the most helpful moving consultant I met with (and I met with a lot). ...More He had ideas on how to make our move and my life easier AND his quote was lower by a significant amount than the other 4 companies I met with. Lisa Pryzgoda, his office assistant, quickly got us the paperwork we needed for the building and was very easy to communicate with. Then the day of the move came and it could not have gone smoother. Our crew was Matheus, Ander and Melvin. The nicest guys who worked so hard and QUICKLY. They were on time and so easy to work. All of our belongings made it safe and sound in our new home! I cannot recommend this company more highly and say don't bother meeting any other movers and hire them! You won't regret it.
