Moving State to State (Currently Closed)

They quoted me about $4000.00 to move a 4 bedroom house from Cleveland Ohio to northern Georgia. I pack. I signed then they changed the estimate 4 days before the move to $8000.00! My husband talked to them and they revised the estimate to $6700.00. The movers were to arrive on Sunday with Monda ...Morey as the alternative day. All day Monday I was told they were ok the road and on the way. At 1:00 am Tuesday the driver says they are 5 minutes away. Here it is Tuesday morning at 7:30 still no movers. I am struggling to believe this is an honest legal company . Update , they are not. They will provide a reasonable estimate well in advance and tell you the binding rate is based on weight. Then a couple days prior to your move , they will double it! They will tell you over the phone the rate can go down based on weight they don't want you surprised by a large amount after the move. They will tell you that the driver will give you the final weight on delivery of your items . This is not consistent with what they do. They charge you an exorbitant price and then the price only goes up not down from there. Check them out on the BBB, they have an F rating

Employing this company to arrange my move from Texas to Florida was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. They subbed the actual move to East Coast Movers, LLC who treated my belongings like garbage. They showed up with too small a truck and we had to leave 1/8 of our belongings behind ...More and tried to get me to hire another truck to supplement theirs. Then they coerced me to sign a bill of lading indicating a complete shipment. When our things arrived in Florida a king mattress was damaged as was a dining room table and TV. After the fact State to State tried to be helpful and only was able to get the movers to charge for weight actually transported.
