I knew something was up when they were the only available company at the end of June 2010. Every other company was booked for the week and week after the end of the month, but they had plenty of availability. I was very weary, made sure to get a contract faxed over, went thru all the possible e ...Morextra charges (which there are plenty - TV, anything glass, rentals for wardrobe boxes, fuel, etc) Guys showed up on time. They actually did a good job, we were out of the apartment in a timely fashion and everything was handled well. Here is where things went wrong. I was moving from Queens to Manhattan. Because of this, we had added a fourth mover as we didn't expect to be able to park the truck in the most ideal location. We were able to park much closer than expected, in a legal spot. They decided to park the truck a few feet away from the curb blocking another lane of traffic. They also parked the truck with the back into a fire hydrant area, they could have moved it forward an hour in to the move when the car in front of it moved out. But four hours later they didn't. As they were packing up, no one was keeping an eye on the truck and they received several parking tickets. The "owner" called me up demanding I pay the parking tickets. I explained the whole reason we had an extra guy on (at $150/hour) was to because of expecting parking issues. He got extremely aggressive. Some guy screaming at me on the phone wasn't going to intimidate me, so I hung up. Then the guys (all four) show up at my door an hour later saying they had "mis-charged me" and they needed another $300. They changed the times on the receipt and said they would have to call the police if I didn't pay. After an extremely long day, all I wanted to do is lay down and I couldn't think causing a ruckus with police and more yelling in my new building was worth it. We negotiated $200 more and they left.
