(April 19, 2018) I had to move out of state from Texas to Colorado within less than a week due to job opportunity. I had signed up to receive email notification on moving companies. I noticed one called Global Moving Systems (GMS) and gave them a call for information. I spoke to a Darlene in ...MoreNew Jersey who quoted me at first about over $4000.00 to move over 760 square foot of items (2 bedroom). I stated the cost was too high and having another company who offered $2500.00. She gave me a family discount (since this was a family company) and another discount which brought it down to about $2783.00. She also stated that the company I received the deal for was a broker and stated they come out and scam you trying to up the price to move items. I explained I would talk it over with my husband. She gave me a website to go on their site to do some research. She stated their company was NOT a broker and once they offer price it is FINAL and no hidden charges. Darlene text me again on April 20, 2018 to see if my husband researched their company. I stated I will contact her on Sunday, April 22, 2018 for review info with her. My husband and I contacted her and after researching and looking at other reviews (having 5 stars) we felt this would be a good deal to take. Darlene set up the contract which we would pay half when movers came to pick up and other half when deliver items to home. She asked how I would pay. I told her with a credit card. She seemed to hesitate but took the deposit of $581.43. She asked how we would pay the $2783.00 which we told her again with credit card. She hesitated again said that the company charges a 5% interest on credit card, but we agreed to that charge. We urged to have our items picked up either Saturday or Sunday and someone would call me on Friday to confirm date of movers coming. On Friday, April 27, 2018 around 6:15pm, I received a call from the moving company that movers will be there on Sunday, April 29, 2018 around 8am. On Saturday, April 28, 2018 around 3pm I received a call from the lead truck driver (Alex) that him and his crew would be coming on Monday, April 30, 2018. I explained with confusion that was not what was scheduled and needed them to be at the home on Sunday. I called Darlene back and she said that the contract states Monday, which my husband and I reviewed contract and did show Monday. Darlene made a mistake by putting wrong day; even though, we spoke to her to confirm and received a call on Friday before confirming Sunday pick up. She acted as though she did not remember saying that. My phone automatically records all calls and we informed her we have this recorded that she did confirm this. She hesitated and spoke to her supervisor to see if can reschedule. I then received a call from lead drive (Alex) stating will be at home for pick up on Sunday, April 29, 2018 after 3pm. I called Darlene back told her that Alex will come on Sunday and she stated that Alex is really good and will take care of you and keep his word to be there. On Sunday, April 29, 2018 after 3pm, I received a call from lead driver (Alex) that they were at the apartments for pick up (they were lost and told them to go to apartment office and my husband would guide them back). Of course, they did not do that and found where we lived while my husband was waiting for them at the office. There were three crew member including Alex. One of the crew noticed our rabbits and told them we were selling them to good home. He seemed to be fixated on one of our rabbits and taking photos and thought he might be interested in buying rabbit. My husband came back home and as I showed Alex on what boxes we packed (my husband and I were up for 30 hours packing all night) and need to go on the truck, looked bewildered on items we had to put on truck. He stated to us that this was more than 768 square feet. He quoted us that our furniture (papasan chair and bags with clothes in them) all need to be in boxes and would charge us about $300.00 to box these items. He also stated that we have over 1000 square feet and price would go up. I explained to him that was not the case because we were told that no hidden fees and final price would be honored. He said that is not how it works. I called Darlene again and when she answered she said she would speak to her supervisor. Alex and his crew waited out in truck and said he would speak to same supervisor. I did not hear from Darlene for over 10 minutes so I called back and a male (Robert, supervisor) told us she was not working today. I urgently and with confusion explained that I had just spoke to her a while ago about the moving crew and charges. He said he would speak to Alex. About 15 minutes later, Alex comes back into our home and said that the cost would increase to $4000.00 because he feels this would cover about 1200 square foot in truck. (There is more, please see Angie's list or BBB). They are BROKERS and SCAMMERS.

My partner and I had a very similar story to Phoenix's. At first our sales rep, "Jen", seemed very welcoming and helpful as the delivery estimate she gave over the phone was very competitive with the delivery date according to her, being 3-5 business days. No troubles here yet. The troubles for ...Moreus began the day of pickup, until roughly 1 month after, which is when our stuff was finally delivered! On pickup-day we were charged an extra $500 for not putting everything in boxes and the fact that our stuff went over the space limitations as per the estimate. Because we were in a rush to move we did not dispute this additional amount, although looking back we should have. Over the next three weeks we called Jen, her manager "Robert", to inquire about the status of our goods. After receiving our payment Jen was useless and completely unhelpful. She would always redirect us to her so-called manager "Robert". I don't know what Robert does but I do know he is quite OK with lying and fabricating stories about the delivery date and circumstances of our goods. We must have called him and Jen 50+ times in the space of 3 weeks to hear nothing but unanswered phone calls and messages, and even worse lies. We were told multiple times that our belongings are on the way, that they would be delivered within the weekend, and that the driver would call us soon, all lies! We finally were able to get our goods delivered by calling multiple times a day, every day, eventually informing the company that we would file a claim and take them to court. I am amazed how companies like this are legally able to function. Please, do yourselves a huge favor and avoid Global Moving Systems, based in North Bergen, NJ!!
I COMPLETELY DISAGREE WITH THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS ! ! ! I work for a company that has my family and myself moving 2-3 times a year. Iv had a few bad experiences with a couple other moving companies until I came across Global Moving Systems. I initially spoke with "Brooke", who was pleasant to spe ...Moreak with and had me laughing often. She made me feel like family, instead of another customer. Since "Brooke" gave me her personal number I saved it in my phone and speak with her every time I plan to move. I as well have been in contact with "Robert" many times. I believe he said he was "Operations Manager" or "dispatch". I associate with Global Moving Systems so often, both "Brooke" and "Robert" know my voice very well. They even ask me about my family, and my new ventures with work. There was 1 time, my belongings arrived 2 days later from delivery date, but other then that no issues at all. If anybody asked me for a moving company, I would refer them in a heart beat!
I hired global to move my Furniture from mass to the villages in Florida they pick up the 25 of June, the driver told me my delivery would on June 28 , we called to verify that our furniture would be to our new home on the 28, we were told by a Irrupt person on the phone that it would be i ...Moret lease 10 days. We told him we were told that our delivery date was for the 28. We were told they Call back. We have not heard from him yet. We have only packed for 3 days and now on day 6 with no Communication from global on when our delivery will come. I call Several times and left messages with no answer from global at all.PLease not make my mistake in trusting global to move you.
The worse decision I have ever made. I am in the military and have moved multiple times cross country, three to be exact. The other moving companies were professional and treated your furniture and items as if they were their own. The movers for this company showed complete disregard for care ...More of any of my items. For example, a light box labeled fragile was put on the very bottom of a box pile, broke chairs, chipped furniture, broken lamp. They even folded a king sized mattress in half, then dragged it on a warehouse floor, complete destroying it. I really regret trying to save a buck and using this company. Never again!
