Extra space storage should be renamed "Family Storage" because that's how well they treat you. From the minute you make contact with one of their representatives they're most accommodating and friendly and assuring.

This is the second time I have rented a storage space at this particular location & have always been very pleased with the staff & the storage unit itself. The manager Juan is fantastic and explained everything in detail. A really nice man who knows his job well, he left no question unanswered a ...Morend made sure we were comfortable with leaving my daughters belongings there. If you need a storage unit this is the place to go! Thanks Juan!!!

Great customer service. We ended up Using space for 2 months and it was very convenient near our home. Area is clean and well maintained. Staff is very helpful and considerate. Check them out if you need a space .

I have been looking for a self storage place for about a week. Looking to rent at least 2 units with one being a drive up of at least 10x25 and the other being a 10x10 climate controlled unit. Called the local number I got off of google and its a call center (ok no prob) first talked to them and ...More a few minutes after hanging up with the call center I received a call from Karol that stated she works at the site that I was interested in. She was nice and even stated that she had 1 large unit that was just moved out of and she would go check it out to make sure there were no issues with it. She called me back a short time later and said it was good to go. I said ok let me talk to my wife and see what she wants to do, Karol said OK but its a first come first serve basis. To my mistake I did not know how busy self storage places are. I called the call center again about 2 days later and was told the unit was still available, I said ok I will come Monday to check it out and rent it I was told at that time that a lead would be put in and it would be secured for me. I called Monday to ask about the 10x10 unit and where it would be in consideration to the 10x25 drive up. Was told by call center the 10x25 was no longer available (are you kidding me) was given the number to the site itself and told to speak to the site manager Karen. I called and again spoke to Karol for the second time. She said that the unit had been rented out. I left it at that, she said people can say they are moving out at any time so to keep checking. So this brings me to today (Tuesday, well yesterday I guess technically) I drove around to many storage units in my area. I stop at this site walked in with my brother, there were two ladies working. I asked for Karen and on me lady raised her hand. I stated that I was told the day before to ask for her because of the issue, she told me she did not know anything about it that it was her first day back to work in 2 weeks. I made a funny comment to which we both chuckled, she asked me if I had a lead, I started to explain to her what happen, I said (my exact words) yes I was suppose to but someone messed up, out of the blue the other lady starts yelling saying NO ONE MESSED UP I TALKED TO YOU YESTERDAY AND TOLD YOU WE HAD NOTHING. I then realized that this was Karol. I said again my words pump your breaks I did not say YOU messed up, again she started yelling, my brother turned around and walked out. I again was trying to explain what happen to the site manager Karen, Karen said ok maybe the system dropped you out for some reason and Karol over talked her and said NO HE WAS TOLD THE WAY IT WORKS. Karen never said a word after that (great managerial skills) even picked up the landline phone like it rang. I now began to get loud as to defend myself from being screamed at like I was a child (I am 38 by the way) I told Karol again that I was not saying she made the mistake she said ok but kept yelling and telling me I was wrong, not one time saying sorry to me for jumping down my throat, never got a sorry from the site manager either. Walked out called the call center and put a complaint in, was told the District Manager would be in contact with me, which she was her name was Joan (very very nice and understanding) said sorry many times. I was quoted then 10x25 at $259 at this site. They have another site less then 5 mins away they have a unit but it was $469 or so. Joan looked in computer and said she can give me the unit for $359. I said thank you but its still more expensive then what I was quoted and the fact that I did not feel comfortable with my stuff with there company because of how off the charts Karol was. Joan again said sorry to me and stated that she understands. Maybe can use them but not with Karol around, not until and apology from her is given to me for starters. Its a shame because they are very conveniently located on RT 36 in Hazlet, NJ

Very nice ladies, very helpful to my fiancee and I. We were very impressed how clean the facility was, and we appreciated the good advice given about getting "Damp Rid" to protect our stored items--since it isn't in a controlled temp environment.
