Marissa/Carissa is great and knows how to listen to & treat customers. I wish I can say the same about her assistant Mar. When I stopped by for the first time to pick up the lock I call for assistance as I'm exiting because the gate wouldn't open. When I call, Mar picks up the phone. I explain ...More the gate won't open. He asks how I entered in the first place . I explained to Mar that another vehicle was exiting and as the gate was closing I was stepping out of my vehicle to punch in the code when I noticed that the gate stopped closing and instead fully reopened; so I get back in my car and enter the premises. Instead of Mar listening, he insinuates I'm lying by lecturing me on how because I supposedly tail gated now I'm stuck. I was shocked that he responded with assumption rather than check the cameras himself on how I entered the premises. Mar ignores my request to speak to Marissa/Carissa & changes his attitude from assuming to actually being helpful. I hope others read this and are on the lookout. Although I didn't give Mar a reason to be rude , he felt entitled to assume and lecture me while I was asking for help. May the audio and video footage be released to confirm/disprove the incident with Mar on June 19, 2021 at around 4pm.

The staff is excellent; very helpful and informative. Just rented a unit and was very happy with the process. Mar was great to deal with for sure.
DO NOT store your stuff here! Not one encounter with the on site or call center staff was professional or positive. The staff is dishonest, rude and disrespectful and they don't know their own policies. They absolutely price gouge. Our 4x8 storage unit started at $57 a few years ago and is n ...Moreow $162. They don't call back or answer the phone on site. I've called multiple times this week just trying to speak to a human and I either get someone in some other city who says they will send a message to my local store or I get caught in a phone loop that just sends me back to their phone tree. When I finally spoke to the manager after 5 days of calling she was uninterested in helping or even listening to my story. Because of their incompetence and inability to get back to me in a timely manner I have to pay for an extra month. Had they just answered the phone and given me the correct information I wouldn't be out $162. Save yourself time, money and energy and go somewhere where they actually provide a good service and care about their customers.
Eric was very nice and made moving out very easy! Highly recommend this storage unit for ease of use and convenience.
UPDATE: I moved out on 7/29/21 exactly 2 months after I signed my contract. I was there ONE day past my billing date & this location is NOT going to refund me my money. I paid $244.20 for ONE DAY! They rented my space to someone else AND they are keeping my money for all AUGUST. So they're gett ...Moreing 2 months rent for one storage unit. Pretty SLEAZY TRICK Extra Space Storage in Berkeley! Reading other Yelp reviews, they also will JACK UP the rent soon after you move in. The manager at the Berkeley location is the WORST MANAGER I have ever come across! She will berate you and blame you for whatever goes wrong! She wrote in the report that SHE MOVED MY STUFF OUT of my space (see pic attached), I didn't have anything to move out!!! Their signage is bad, and they don't care enough to correct it (see pics). DO NOT RENT HERE!!!
