I have been storing my stuff here for a number of years. I would move my thing to another storage unit if I didn't have so much stuff to move! I recently went in to rent a smaller, additional unit to store some extra things before we move. They advertise the first month free. As I went to pa ...Morey, the manager told me I owed the first month. I questioned it and he said it was for new customers only. I was shocked that they wanted to treat new customers better than ones that have been with them for years! After going around in circles for a bit, he said that the reason they do it is so the current customers could move their stuff from one unit to another and close up their prior unit, getting the new one for free. I explained a few times this was an ADDITIONAL unit and that I was not moving out of my old one. The whole experience with this staff is exhausting and everything is an argument with them as this was not my first bad experience. I would store elsewhere in the future because of the staff.

Great place for storage and VERY affordable. This is my first time I have to have my stuff at the storage and the person that assisted me was very helpful, friendly and patient with all my questions.

The plan was to drive up from Baltimore on a Saturday, drop off some belongings in storage, and turn around and drive back home. I had reserved a unit a week prior using the online service through CubeSmart. When we arrived to CubeSmart at 4:30, we found the office to be closed, though the sign ...Moreclearly stated they were open until 5:00pm. I called the customer service phone number and was told that they would attempt to find the store manager. I was then told by customer service that he could not be located. A district manager was also attempted to be located but they were unable to find this person as well. Meanwhile, other customers who already had storage units were come up to the office to pay for their monthly bills just to find the office was closed before 5:00pm. A kind store manager from another CubeSmart location spoke with me and tried to come up with a resolution in locating someone to come to the Tuckahoe location to let us in. Finally, at about 5:30pm, a store employee rode up on his motorcycle and opened the store for us. We were then led to our unit, which, unbeknownst to me, required we climb a set of stairs on wheels to access. Really? This was not indicated anywhere on the website. Lugging heavy items up and down movable stairs on wheels hardly seems safe. I ended up renting another unit that was not a cubby 12 feet up in the wall. It was at least twice as much as I was planning on spending and had it not been so late in the day with other storage companies in the area already closing, I would not have stayed at CubeSmart. There were no apologies or explanations as to why the employee closed the store early that day. And to get there and find the storage space to literally be unusable for actually storing anything made no sense! Please understand, the space I originally reserved was enough square footage for my belongings, it was just ridiculously inaccessable. I would not return to this location of CubeSmart and if you're thinking of storing in the Tuckahoe area, go somewhere else. I paid so much more than I had expected to pay (due to having to upgrade to a unit that was not super high up on a wall) and the stress of driving 4 hours to only find that the store closed early on a Saturday afternoon, was certainly not worth it.

I placed my belongings in a climate controlled unit here & paid $300/month, starting the end of 2017. To make a long story short, I went there on March 2019 to discover a plastic tarp thrown on top of the unit. I unlocked my unit to discover most of the contents destroyed by an obvious water lea ...Morek, and now everything was black with mold. When I asked Nelson, the manager, what happened, he told me a tree fell May of 2018. Nobody got in touch with me to inform me of any of this. When I tried to resolve the matter, all I got was a run around. So disgusted. You pay a fee for a service, you uphold your responsibility by paying every month, but they don't uphold their responsibility by protecting your belongings. And the worst part is that Nelson, nor anybody else at the facility could care less. Customer service does not exist in this place. I could go on about the chain of events to follow, but I'm not wasting any more time or energy on this review. I just want to warn the public that if you have belongings that you truly care about, don't use CubeSmart.
