American Self Storage started me off at a low rate. They have given me 4 rate hike of $5 in 5 years. When I called to see if they had a unit for a friend I found out that they have been charging me $20/mo more than their introductory rate. I demanded to speak to the manager, Amr. He did not ...Morecall until I sent him a letter threatening legal action. The manager refused to correct my charges. He referred me to my lease and said I needed to give them 30 days notice if I was leaving. He also refused to provide me with the current rental rates. The facility is located in a seedy neighborhood frequented by gang members, prostitutes, and drug addicts. The facility is dirty. My things were always dust covered. There are better storage facilities with ethical business practices. Shop around. Check with the Better Business Bureau.
