I rented a small unit here for 8 months. Everything was professional and courteous. However, an incident occurred that I felt I needed to warn people about. A friend with a pickup truck came to help me move some things. Apparently we did not leave proper clearance in drive space and we ne ...Moreeded to move truck. However, instead of asking us, he told us in a harsh way. Ok. So we start moving things out of the way to make space to move truck, and Jim goes into a crazy rant, targeting my friend --- calling him names, moving toward him aggressively and threatening to vacate me. At no time did we argue with or refuse to move. He wanted to pick a fight. I believe Jim is dangerous. The fact that he's always been nice to me (and i am white) and got so aggressively hostile to my friend (who is Latino and covered in tattoos) suggests to me that he is racist. I reported this incident to the owners a few days ago, and have not yet gotten a response. What happened was beyond unprofessional.

Allsafe self storage lists itself on several sites as providing services that they do not and you don't find out until you show up and their dismissive attitude when asked is "why would you want that?". I made the mistake of battling traffic under the assumption that the information online was ...Morefactual.
I needed a storage unit for about 3 years to facilitate a move. Allsafe is a clean, secure location with helpful, friendly staff. If i ever need a storage unit again, i will certainly contact Allsafe.
Great service, clean unit, very secure, convenient hours/access, not too busy there, totally pest-free, and friendly folks! It's dry there too - I was worried about humidity by water, but not an issue at all. And it's close to Rock Wall, etc. Definitely worth a try!
Jim and Gloria are gone. And so am I, after four years of being a good patron. New management is in, and they're awful. Short form: I received a demand for payment four or five months ago. I didn't think I owed it; I was on auto-debit from my bank account for the entire time I had been there, a ...Morend I hadn't changed services. I wrote back inquiring nicely what this was about, and was curtly told to never mind, that their payment demand was in error. OK. That wasn't awful. But three weeks ago I received two letters from them saying, in essence, your two lockers haven't been paid for, pay us now plus ten bucks for each for late fees, or else. I again wrote back via email saying, hey, waitaminnit, I'm on autopay, and have been for years, what's with the demands rather than an inquiry. (I run a business. If a good customer - or a bad one, for that matter - is late, I call and check in, I don't send a letter saying "pay now or else, sincerely, management," because that's RUDE.) We had a back and forth. Them: your autopay didn't work. Me: It's worked fine for four years, it's probably an issue with your management changeover, I'm sorry about that, and am happy to fix it - but after your previous and rude and impersonal "give me money - whoops sorry never mind" correspondence, I'd like you to waive the $20 late fee. Them: we're pretty sure you overdrew your bank account and ran out of $$$ and that's why autopay didn't work and so no, we'll split the late charge with you. Me: Um. WTF. I wrote back, explaining my bank account had continually had plenty of $$$ in it and that they have crap systems and no bedside manner and terrible judgment. I told them I'd immediately pay them what I owed, including that $20 late fee, and that I'd be out by the end of the month. All of which I did. Silver lining: with four hours of work, I moved from a storage place four minutes from my house to a storage place eight minutes from my house, that costs 30% less for the same amount of space, with a more secure facility, friendly people, trucks for rent, a security system that greets me by name. (And a place that hasn't had any fires that made the news, like Allsafe had a couple months before this review was written.) Congratulations, All Safe Storage. You lost a pay-on-time, four-year, easygoing customer by deciding to haggle over ten bucks. I miss Jim and Gloria. They knew how to run a company. But now I'm at Alameda Central Self-Storage, and I'm thrilled. Join me.
